Tips to Avoid Breaking Down this Summer

In light of the unusually hot weather this summer, you may notice a higher number of vehicles breaking down at the roadside. There are a number of precautionary steps you can take to avoid this happening to you and your car, especially if you are intending to take long journeys across the Country and further. Failing to take care can lead to overheating which consequently can cause the head gasket to blow or even damage the engine.

  • Visually inspect your vehicle to ensure there are no leaks. Give your radiator a particularly close inspection to ensure there is no rust, are no holes or leaks;

  • Check your radiator coolant level;

  • Ask your mechanic to check that your thermostat is working;
